Alaska, My Love Letter

 

I'm collaborating with Holland America once more, this time for this post as well as other social media posts. However, as always, all thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.

I, like many others, would like to visit all 50 states one day. Turns out, I'm almost done (just six more!) but the one I thought would be the last for me was Alaska. That all changed a few years ago, when Holland America, the premier name in Alaska cruising, invited me to join them on a truly remarkable voyage in America's last frontier. Cruising, like everyone else, has had a difficult couple of years, but the industry is roaring back, and this is especially true in Alaska.

Dear Alaska,

I know we've only met once, and even that was arranged, but I can't hide my feelings for you because I am madly in love with you.

Why do I adore you so much? For all of your incredible qualities, beginning with your enormous size. I know it's impolite to say so, but there's no other state that can compete with your girth. When Seward brokered that famous deal with Russia, he certainly knew what he was doing, because you are nearly a fifth the size of the Continental United States; you'll never have to worry about competition when it comes to how much space you have to wander around and explore. And what a place it is!

Your beauty captures the hearts and minds of so many because it is all around you; a type of constant pulchritude that is all encompassing and intoxicating at its best. It's so unusually perfect that I'm afraid one begins to take it for granted. "Yes, another glacier," or "Yes, another untouched forest that has no equal anywhere in the world," are some of the typical visitor's non-complaints. But you're more than a pretty face; you have a keen depth to your personality – your very soul.

Jefferson Beach Club

Jefferson Beach Club is an excellent choice for visitors looking for good drinks, delicious food, and beachfront seating. They have a huge selection of drinks, and be sure to try their incredible mojitos! Their chef is well-known for his paellas, and the staff is well-known for their excellent service.

They have music and are based on Sant Sebastià beach; they are inspired by the Hamptons and want to bring a small piece of Long Island closer to Barcelona. You can sunbathe on the loungers, relax on the terrace, or even dance. This is a place for enjoyment and relaxation.

Bestial Beach Club

The Bestial Beach Club is a fantastic place to visit. They have a stunning spacious terrace right in front of their trendy inner club, and the best part is that entry is free before 1am! This club is right next to the Casino and Hotel Arts Barcelona, right on the beach. They host reggaeton parties and special DJ guests on a weekly basis.

The space is cozy but edgy, with stunning views of the sea. The beach club is also a popular restaurant during meal times, and it is one of the best places in town to eat and relax. You won't be able to complain about the scenery here. Bestial is well-known for its Mediterranean and Italian cuisine, as well as its delectable paella.

The Coconut Club

The Coconut Club, located in the heart of Villa Olmpica, is a Miami-style poolside bar. They are Caribbean-inspired and offer a cool and hip place to relax. They serve delectable Caribbean cuisine and beverages. Their dishes are unique, and they even have a selection of ice cream for those with a sweet tooth. Their cocktail menu includes sangria and mojitos, and their atmosphere will transport you to the islands, albeit without the coconut trees at every turn.

They also host fun events like taco sundays, where they promote a speciality dish to their eager customers! This is yet another excellent spot for a drink in the sun by the beach. Try their coco ice cream or coco drinks, which are both refreshing and delicious!

History of Machu Picchu

Archaeological substantiation uncovered around the point suggests that the area was first used for agrarian purposes back in 760B.C.

The war of Vilcambamba Pachacutec in 1440 established the first agreement at that point. It was called the Tahuantinsuyo Empire which was latterly followed by the confirmation of the government of Manco Capac.

When Huayna Capac and his inheritor, Ninan Cuyuchi, failed nearly between 1525 and 1527, the two sisters Atahualpa and Huáscar went to war over who should rule. The population who had come to live in the Machu Picchu area from pastoral or remote locales left after the war ended to return to where they came from. Latterly another family, Manco Inca was transferred into exile in Vilcambamba, and Machu Picchu was vacated.

Antonio Raimondi was an Italian geographer and scientist from Milan who visited Machu Picchu in 1851. In 1867 Augusto Berns arrived to mine the point.

Hiram Binghamre-discovered the remains in 1911. He proved and publicised his" discovery".

A tripod can support up to 150 lbs, but you'll need a sturdy tripod to support it. It is also recommended to buy a ball head for the camera. A tripod head will allow you to aim the camera and keep the lens from getting scratched. In addition, a tripod head has two main types of heads: ball heads and clamp-pods.
